del Carmen, Tulum and the Riviera Maya, Mexico. Grab your best friends and head out for a rejuvenating vacation to celebrate the new year. Playa del Carmen, Akumal, and Tulum all have a lot to offer for "girls only" vacations. The time has come to try something new, after a year of hard work, its time to leave everything behind and have fun with some friends! Forget the new years resolutions, instead grab a pen and begin you list of things to do in Playa del Carmen Riviera Maya! I'm offering you different activities depending on your interest and your idea of a great time. RELAX - FUN - BIKINI BOOT CAMP 1 RELAX RELAX RELAX If you are looking for a total relax, "stress free" holiday my suggestions are the following: Accommodation stay in a quite hotel on the beach, close to downtown Playa del Carmen, with no bars or beach clubs in sight. There is the beautiful Hotel Las Palapas or Shangri La Caribe. Also quiet and less expensive is the Hotel Riviera Caribe Maya, located on avenue 10th at the corner with 30th street. If you are vacationing in a group of 2 or 3 people you might prefer to share an apartment; there is condo Magia, with an amazing ocean view, located just few steps from the beach in Playa del Carmen downtown. Do yoga on the private roof top early in the morning followed by a jump in the pool for a refreshing swim. What to do Of course during the day you have to spend a few hours in one of the amazing SPA in Playa del Carmen. My favorites are: ITZA Spa, located on Calle Corazon, the beautiful street from 5th to 10th avenue. This SPA offers you massage therapies, facial & skin therapies, Mayan healing baths, hydro tub remedies, body antidotes, Hot on the Spot Rocks, Aroma Therapy, Scalp Treatment, Hydrating Face Mask... Another SPA is La Vida Real located in Playacar phase II - paseo XamanHa, villa Pakal (grab a taxi) this is a 5star SPA, beautifully designed with all the services you can imagining. Play Golf. It's relaxing, funny and for everybody. Yoga by the sea. There are lesson that you can take right on the beach with a nice breeze from the sea. Arielle, the yoga instructor, has years of experience and also organize retreats for group of friends. Diving is relaxing and fun. Go to the Gym! It's good for your body and mind, after a hard workout and a hot shower, you will feel relaxed! Where to eat/drink Healthy food and fresh fruit juice, of course! Almost all the restaurant in Playa del Carmen offer a variety of Salads, fresh Fish, amazing fruit and juices. Restaurant like 100% Natural, located on 5th avenue immersed in a tropical garden, offers, breakfast, lunch, dinner and juices, all 100% natural and healthy! Take a walk with your friends and reach Avenue 30th, between Costituyentes and street 24th, there is DAK a local market with a bar right next the entrance. Here you can find the best Mango juice in town for less than $1,50 usd. On 40th between Avenue 5th and 1st there is a Il Pirata Pescado y Mariscos restaurant open until 1 pm. Here you will find the best fish around. Ask for Filetto a la plancha (grilled fillet) with rice and vegetables, or Filetto al Limon (lemon sauce) or al Ajo (garlic sauce). Healthy, fresh and with flavor. What about Sushi? There is a new sushi restaurant in town called Tsuba. This cozy open air restaurant is located on 5th avenue at corner with street 34th right under the building Los Aluxes. Everything is delicious. At the Baretto on 5th avenue and street 26th for breakfast they offer the Dietetica (light yogurt with granola and fruit - cappuccino with skin milk - white eggs with spinach). 2 FUN FUN FUN If your life is busy, and you never have time to stay together, Playa del Carmen offers you plenty of activities and a place to have fun with you best friends. If you want to party till the sun rise; if you are looking for nice bars before the dancing night; if you want to do some fun activities during the day, and get a great tan at the same time....we have what you want. If its your first time to Playa del Carmen you have to visit calle 12. Street 12 is the heart of Playa del Carmen nightlife. Accommodation On street 12 we have some of the best hotels in town, the price range varies, but the quality is amazing and they are just 2 steps away from the bars; having said that, forgetting your lipstick in you room wont be a problem, you'd be back in a flash. Mosquito Blue is located right on street 12, in front of Santanera Disco and Divino restaurant, is a a modern mexican style hotel, with all the comfort. La Tortuga is a cozy hotel right at the opposite corner of CocoBongo disco. The amazing garden and pool will give you never ending reasons to spend time in the hotel. No kids around, only adults. Kinbe hotel is located only 1 block from 12 street, without a doubt one of the quieter hotels and instead of being 1 step far is 2. Nice and modern Magic Blue hotel is the new paradise in town. Nice rooms, beautiful garden, located at corner of street 12 and avenue 10th. You will find a lot of young people here enjoining the sun, pool, and just the overall atmosphere. What to do Are you here to have fun? Perfect! Do not miss this: Discovery Jungle Park who told you that quad is just for men? I drove one once while it was raining! What a tour! I was extremely tiring but definitely worth it. I laugh the entire time; and if your friends are with you, be competitive! After the racing there will be 10 different type of zip lines. Just amazing. Jungle Crossing be sure to have your belt on! This is a complete tour with different activities, like kayak and snorkeling, relax at the beach, visit a Mayan village, explore Cenote and of course ride on the 4X4 truck! Diving is fun and its for everyone. If you've never dove before, take a discover scuba diving lesson and find out if you are ready to explorer the underwater majestic world of the Mexican reef, the second largest in the world. Fish and corals are waiting for you and also awesome dive instructors. Shopping of course! There's nothing to explain. You will find few unique shops like SHALOM for amazing dress, MASQUENADA for beautiful swim suit and LA SIRENA for nice mexican souvenirs. All these shops are located on 5th avenue. If you want to concentrate your shopping time go to Paseo del Carmen, the open air mall, with Bershka, Pull and Bear, American Appareal, Diesel and more. Gym for some is fun, for others is hard! But there are no doubts, It's healthy, energizing and is the perfect place to meet locals and new friends. Sky Diving Are you ready to jump? Are you ready to feel the most amazing sensation in the world? If you are 2 crazy friends and want to do an experience like this together, you can. Of course is a tandem jump, there will be an instructor on your back....but you can see the face of your friend while you are suspend 3000mt above the beautiful caribbean sea. Where to eat/drink Divino amazing Italian restaurant - wine bar - eat at the bar if you want to meet people and chat with the barman. Manolo argentian restaurant with the best meat in town - a lot of locals go there! Baretto italian restaurant and cafe - best cappuccino in town - big plates of home made pasta - meat - fish. Not expensive. Babes Thai Mexican cuisine, cool place to drink and eat, a bit of spicy food, good flavors, nice plates, good location. Diablito Cha Cha Cha Mexican food, nice atmosphere, cool place to sit and watch people walking on street 12 while having a little bit of everything as dinner El Cielo opposite to the Diablito, is a cool place to have a drink, before, during, and after dinner. Nice music very open space, good position. Kartabar A bit more chic than the other places. Good food, nice drinks, perfect view of street 12th Santanera This disco/bar is always full of local people, a little bit crowded, but nice, with good Djs. There are 2 floors. Downstairs there is the disco, upstairs there is a lounge open air bar - my favorite part. Cocobongo new in town, this is the disco with the best show, nice music and people. You will find a lot of boys and girls walking on the beach and on 5th avenue selling you the entrance, during the day. Deseo lounge bar is next to Divino restaurant. Walk the stairs and you will find a light blue - semi dark open air lounge bar, with huge cushions and a pool. Evry night there is a B/W movie projected on the wall. 3 FUN and RELAX You don't need me to write down what to do, just add a little bit of Relax and mix it with a spicy part of Fun! 4 BIKINI BOOT CAMP RIVIERA MAYA Two Weeks to Your Ultimate Beach Body Get in shape for beach season!
