What's really cool in Playa del Carmen
Look what 5th avenue have to offer you
Converse

Here in Playa del Carmen you can find
the original hand painted, Chuck Taylor Converse, from the social
program Pintando Pasos.
You can find the Converse shop on 5th avenue between street 10th and
8th - playa del carmen.
An art teacher in the Mexican village of Pinotepa de Don Luis
started a program for kids that (to really make a very long story
short) ultimately ended up in a project for Converse. The results
are these very cool high-tops hand-painted by the kids, who produce
about 80 pairs a month. If you want to be part of this project you
just have to buy a pair of shoes and the 100% of the sales will go
directly to the Mixteca de Pinotepa de Don Luis community in Oaxaca
Mexico.
(between $70 USD and $300 USD)
La Sirena

This is my favorite shop in town.
Every time i have to buy a gift for a friend or a new piece for my
apartment I visit Patrizia at La Sirena, located on Avenue 5th at
corner with street 26th. She always have the best and the coolest
artisan pieces from all Mexico.
If you are looking for a serious gift or for a funky gift you can
find both of them here. This is also the only shop in Playa del
Carmen that have a complete collection of Lucha Libre art craft.
(between $15 USD and $150 USD)
Mask Lucha Libre

If La Sirena sell a collection of
Lucha libre art craft, you can find real lucha libre masks on 5th
avenue, almost to all the local arts shop. The price for each Mask
is around $150 MXpesos (15 usd), the more you buy the lower the
price can be. Those mask can be used on a Carnival Party or during
Halloween. Easy to wear and not expensive.
(between $15 USD and $20 USD)
Jelly lamps

The Jelly lamps are made with coconut
shells, hand made elaborated with different styles and stones and
depending on the light you put inside will give you different shapes
on the wall, and colors.
Those lamps are not heavy but are a little bit delicates.
Choose the
