A Superb Catamaran Adventure Tour...
make an afternoon of it on the "Fat Cat", a 41 foot custom built catamaran with a friendly and professional UK/Mex. crew. It is owner-operated to ensure the very best service. The Fat Cat offers Mexico's only 'boom netting' experience, combined with a stop in a secluded snorkel cove overlooked by a Mayan temple.

The Catamaran carries up to 35 passengers per tour. We will be happy to check availability for any day except Sunday. (The Fat Cat rests on Sundays).

The sail includes:
Free drinks, cocktails, beers, coke, coke light, mineral water and fruit juice. Free Snacks: guacamole, salsa, chips and fresh tropical fruit platters.
(And yes, there is a bathroom on board).

The tour is approx. 5 hours
First tour at 9:00am - Second tour at 3:00 pm and sets sail from Puerto Aventuras. (Approx. 15 minutes from Playa del Carmen). 

The Tour Schedule:
9:00    Free pick-ups in Playa del Carmen at either Club Bananas or Plaza Playacar. (Both locations are an easy cab ride away).
10:00  Safety orientation, snorkel gear outfitting, and introductions at Puerto Aventuras manatee pool, close to the dolphin area.
10:15   Depart from Marina, with free drinks service, fruit platters, CD music on board, supervised 'Boom Netting' (this is where you can sit on a net in the water trailing behind the boat while moving).
12:00   Arrive at Xaac cove then anchor where you can have guided snorkeling on the reef. Plenty of beach and exploring time with an opportunity to go onshore and climb to the small Mayan temple there. Fresh guacamole, salsa, chips and fresh fruits are served on board.
1:30    Depart from Xaac for sail return to our cenote water mangrove pool with swim opportunity and visit the tie-dye island. (this is time and weather permitting).
3:00    Dock at Puerto Aventuras for return transports back into Playa del Carmen.

* Another option would be to tell them you do not need a transport back to Playa (It costs approximately 150 pesos (about $15 US, depending on the exchange rate) to get a taxi back into Playa del Carmen on your own) and take a look around the marina, shopping area. They also have a "swim with the dolphins" program there.

If you plan to book the tour, please bring a towel, sunscreen (although part of the boat is covered), swimwear, change of clothes & payment ticket on the day of the sail. If you book through us, we will send you an email payment confirmation to take with you.

We must get a 30% deposit from when we confirm your tour reservation. There will be no refund if you do not show up for the pick-up. It is very important that you are on-time for the pick-up. Cancellations need to be made a week in advance to receive a refund.

In case of weather problems or rough sea conditions on the day of your scheduled tour, The Fat Cat may be forced to cancel your trip. We at Travel Riviera will attempt to notify you at your hotel and if we are unaware or unable to reach you, a Fat Cat staff member will notify you at the pick-up point of the cancellation. If it is not possible for Fat Cat to reschedule you during your stay, a refund of the amount paid to hold your reservation will be refunded back to you.
This tour is not advisable for those who suffer from seasickness.
