During the early 1800's, Capitan Jean Lafitte loved to hide out on secluded
beaches in Mexico and he's the inspiration for our type of vacation experience!

attitude and ambiance here are a little hard to nail down but, pretentious, spit
& polish are phrases that would never be associated with this little beach
resort! Our little piece of Caribbean coastline is populated with genuine
people who are down to earth and quick to smile. La Posada del Capitán Lafitte
is a place where our guests come back year after year. It's common to see a
bartender or waiter showing off photos of their kids while guests marvel over
how much they've grown in the course of only one season. After only a day or two
you find yourself in the "zone" - relaxing in your hammock while your watch lies
lost somewhere in the bottom of the suitcase. The phrase "What day of the
week is it?" is overheard often!
